ABOUT THE COURSE
This EMBO | FEBS Lecture Course on “Novel Biophysical Approaches in the Investigation of the Cytoskeleton” is the upcoming Conference in a series of high quality meetings organised since 1981 by the European Cytoskeletal Forum (ECF), with support from the EC, EMBO or FEBS. We aim to continue this solid tradition of exchanging excellent science and combining it with training of young researchers.
The 2012 meeting will have special focus on novel biophysical methods, including recent improvements in optical and other microscopic methods for live cell research, micro- and nanotechnology and single-molecule techniques. Tightly related to these applications investigations on corresponding biological processes (a.o. calcium fluxes, membrane-cytoskeleton interactions, interactions between the nucleoskeleton and the cytoskeleton, cell migration, intracellular motility and motor proteins) will also be discussed.
Topics focusing on general aspects of biomolecular interactions, conformational dynamics and structure of cytoskeletal proteins or protein complexes will also be included, to shed light on underlying molecular mechanisms.
