GENETIC STABILITY & CHANGE:
Genome maintenance mechanisms
in plants

2 - 5 May, 2012 |Roscoff | France

About the Workshop

Bringing together the scientific community studying mechanisms of genome stability and modification in plants, this workshop will deal with the following topics : recombination, DNA repair, meiosis, cell cycle, telomeres and chromosome stability, replication and applied technologies including plant breeding and targeted genome modification.

Plants feed us, make the air we breath and form and support our environment. In a world faced with increasing populations and climatic change, the importance of understanding the fundamental processes used by plants to maintain and repair their genomes is of ever increasing importance and urgency.

These processes also underly both "classical" plant breeding for agronomy and the developement of novel technologies to be applied to varietal development in the future.

The workshop is structured around 8 scientific sessions covering the following topics:

• DNA Damage Response

• Chromosome and Recombination

• Meiosis

• Technologies and Applications

Key actors in the field have agreed to present their latest results and to chair the sessions. The rapid advances in understanding of these subjects promise to make this an exciting scientific meeting.

We look forward to welcoming you next May to Roscoff,
a delightful fishing town on the coast of Brittany in France!
