Introduction to synthetic biology

16 - 22 April 2012 | Buenos Aires | Argentina



Our goal is to contribute to the development of Synthetic Biology in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Students working in the region or Latin American students working abroad will be given preference, but all applications are welcome.

No previous experience in Synthetic Biology is needed.

Total number of Ph.D students and postdocs is 30.

Deadline for payment of registration fee: 15 February 2012


Registration fee: 25 Euros

Registration fee includes: Accommodation, lunch, coffee breaks and social events.

Travel costs: will be partially or totally reimbursed after the course


Registration fee will be requested after student selection.

Payment is requested for final acceptance to the course.

The most promising students will be selected from submitted CVs and abstracts about their current project.

We will try to ensure:

(1) commitment to a scientific career

(2) potential for contributing to synthetic biology in Latin America and the Caribbean after the course

(3) gender balance

(4) geographic balance

(5) balance between basic and applied researchers

(6) balance between researchers from molecular biology, engineering and other disciplines

(7) command of English language.
