ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The aim of this EMBO Workshop is to bring together outstanding scientists and physicians from diverse fields to discuss the biology of Macrophages in physiology and disease. These phagocytes have important roles in both development and host defense, and importantly, are implicated in the pathogenesis of varied diseases including chronic inflammatory disease, metabolic disease, regeneration and cancer.
This workshop supported by EMBO and Sanofi is the fifth in a biennial series organized by the Centre d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML) in France. These meetings focus on emerging topics in immunology and are accompanied by a satellite workshop for students and post-docs: The Luminy Advanced Course in Immunology (LACI).
This meeting will be focused on macrophage biology with keynote lectures from Siamon Gordon and Gioacchino Natoli on the "Immunobiology of the Macrophage" and the "genomic regulatory framework for macrophage diversification and specialization".
Sessions:
- ontogeny and development
- inflammation
- infection
- cancer
- regeneration and healing
Attendance will be limited to 110 persons.
