Optional Tour:

Down House is the former home of Charles Darwin and his family. It was in this house and garden, including the famous Sandwalk, where Darwin worked on his theories of evolution by natural selection. Enjoy a fascinating lecture and tour by Prof Steve Jones, the prominent geneticist and author of popular science books, as he shares his extensive knowledge about the Darwin family and the house and gardens they called home for 40 years.
Return bus travel has been arranged (77 persons), departing near Senate House at 11am, and returning to UCL at around 4pm (traffic-permitting). No more than 25 guests are allowed into the house at any one time. Down House will not be open to the public on that day, providing an exquisite opportunity to see this interesting place.
The cost of this excursion is only £20 per person, which includes bus travel, entry to house and gardens, tour by Steve Jones, audio-guide, and picnic lunch (sandwiches and fruit juice). You can indicate whether you want to participate in this tour during the online registration. Please note that spaces are strictly limited to 77 persons and booking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Register early to avoid disappointment.
