Information in the application form is important for eligibility to the course.
Passport and citzenship details are required by the Ministry of Internal Affairs from all participants, to all workshops, conferences and courses organized in Tunisia.
Please note a letter of support from your supervisor stating why you should attend must be signed, scanned and uploaded before your application is considered complete.
Please carefully read and give yourself enough time to fill the form out.
Completed application form must be received no later than Saturday May 31st, 2104.
Incomplete documents and late applications will not be considered.
Registration fees include:
- Accommodation (twin shared rooms) in a nearby hotel for 12 nights (14th-25th September 2014)
- Round-trip travel to Tunisia upon competition for a selected group of participants
- Participation in all lectures and tutorials
- Course materials
- Social events scheduled in the programme
- Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and refreshments
- Transport from/to Tunis Carthage airport
Registration fees DOES NOT include:
- Visa fees
- Extra hotel nights
- Housing in any other hotel
- Tips and any other personal expenses (phone calls, hotel drinks)
- Other costs that are not mentioned in the section above
This Global Exchnage Lecture Course is open to PhD students and researchers working on infectious diseases, who have experience in the field of NGS data and who are seeking to improve their skills in NGS data analysis tools.
A number of 20 full time places will be available for the course. Acceptance will be subjected to an evaluation process. Selection criteria include participants background (biologists, bio-informaticians, computer scientists), running research projects, expressed motivations, as well as their familiarity with Linux environment.
All applicants should be aware that in order for their application to be considered, they must carefully complete the application form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applicants should submit their application using the on-line application form, exclusively through the EMBO website. Please make sure that you visit the online form ahead of starting the submission process in order to prepare all requested documents: i.e. short CV, abstract of your current research related to the course topics and your motivation to participate to the course. A recommendation letter from the supervisor (signed and scanned) must be uploaded online as a pdf file.
Please note that a limited number of travel grants will be made available for a selected group of participants. To apply for a grant, please explain within your application (dedicated section) why you would benefit from this grant.
Acceptance Notification Date: Successful applicants will be notified by MONDAY, JUNE 16TH, 2014 and will be asked to confirm their participation by SUNDAY, JUNE 22ND, 2014.
Upon acceptance, selected participants will be asked to make their payment by Friday, August 15th, 2014 (payment instructions will be provided upon selection).
