About the conference

This  EMBO Conference will cover chromosome structure and organization, epigenetic modifications,  chromatin remodelling and reprogramming, genome stability, replication and repair, nuclear RNA, synthetic biology and genomics, nuclear diseases.
This is the fifth meeting of a series of conferences that takes place every two years. Details of the 2013 EMBO Conference can be found at http://events.embo.org/13-nucleus/.
Special emphasis will be given on epigenetics and genomic regulation of nuclear structure and function.
We invite interdisciplinary contributions including molecular, genetics and cell biology techniques applied to a wide range of organisms, as well as biophysics and mathematical modelling approaches.
The programme will include invited talks, selected talks and ample time for poster presentation.

Programme

The EMBO Conference will begin on the evening of Wednesday, October 7 (Arrival and registration between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m.), and end after lunch on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

A detailed programme for this conference will be distributed at registration on site.
This EMBO Conference will cover chromosome structure and organization, epigenetic modifications,  chromatin remodelling and reprogramming, genome stability, replication and repair, nuclear RNA, synthetic biology and genomics, and nuclear diseases.

Each session will include invited talks as well as talks selected from submitted abstracts.
In general, there will be oral sessions in the morning and in the evening. Poster sessions will be in the afternoon.

Review and Selection Process


Participants will be selected on the basis of their abstract submission. All selected participants will give their presentation in the form of posters. In addition, a number of abstracts will be selected for short oral presentation.
Participants planning to bring a poster will be given priority, the relevance of the poster to the conference theme will be taken into consideration.

All abstracts submitted to the conference will go through a peer-review process carried out by the conference Scientific Committee. 
The conference Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject low quality abstracts, as well as those not pertinent to the themes of the conference.
 All presenting authors will be notified via email by June 16, 2015 at the latest.

Poster specifications

Poster should not exceed 90 cm in width and 130 cm in height.

ACCOMMODATION

All participants will be asked to share a room, except invited speakers who will be accommodated in single rooms. Accommodation will be at same venue as the conference.

The “Domaine de Mousquety” is a resort in Southern France located in a beautiful park with a 19th century castle in the village of L’Isle de la Sorgue, close to Avignon. It is an ideal site to welcome around 200 participants. In addition to enjoying the science, you will also have the chance for informal discussion in a friendly and comfortable environment. The region surrounding Avignon is a fantastic area for visits and tourism. It is made up of historical villages, monuments, beautiful countryside, mountains, seaside, and famous vineyards. WEATHER AND CLOTHING
The weather is pleasant, sunny and warm in this region with occasional thunderstorms. During these dates, average temperatures range between 13-23°C (55-74°F). You should bring a warm sweater or jacket for the evening.

PLANE
The closest international airport is Marseille airport.
Shuttle Bus General information:
The shuttle bus will take about 90 minutes to reach the conference venue from or to the Marseille airport.
The shuttle bus will take about 60 minutes to reach the venue from or to the Avignon railway station.

Shuttle Bus FROM airport:
Shuttle buses will be organized from Marseille airport to the conference (90 minutes, 70km) on 7 October.

*** If you miss the shuttle at Marseille Airport they are trains going from the Airport to L'Isle sur la Sorgue (departure station is Vitrolles aéroport, the desination is called L'Isle-Fontaine) you can then take a taxi from L'Isle sur la Sorgue to the conference site (5km).

Shuttle buses will be organized from the conference site to Marseille airport on 11 October.

TRAIN
:
The closest train station is Avignon TGV.
You can reach Avignon TGV train station from Paris - Gare de Lyon or Paris-Roissy-Charles de Gaulle International Airport, (3hrs) or from Lyon - TGV train station and Lyon International Airport (1hr 30min).

Shuttle Bus FROM train station:
Shuttle buses will be organized from Avignon TGV train station to the conference site (60 minutes, 30km) on 7 October. Departure times still to be confirmed.

Shuttle Bus TO train station
Shuttle buses will be organized from the conference site to Avignon train station on 11 October.
 Departure times still to be confirmed.

Taxi:
Taxi transportation costs approximately €50 and €130 from Avignon and Marseille respectively.

Car:
From Avignon go towards L'Isle sur la Sorgue (20km). Take direction Apt (D901), then turn left on Routes de Lagnes (D99). Domaine de Mousquety (Chemin de Mousquety) where it is indicated.
