Physics of Cells: From Molecules to Systems (PhysCell 2015)

30 August – 4 September 2015 | Bad Staffelstein, Germany

About the conference

Living cells are tremendously complex and active systems. With the development of advanced biophysical techniques a more quantitative and detailed picture emerged during the last decade. However, the field is still far from being fully understood and a particular challenge is to integrate efforts from different disciplines and from the molecular up to a systems level.

This third conference in the EMBO series Physics of Cells aims to bring together scientists with different background who are all interested in a fundamental and quantitative understanding of living cells. We want to bring together the very best minds in physics, chemistry and biology for a fruitful exchange of ideas. This conference will provide an environment for a fruitful exchange of ideas and will identify questions of mutual interest for future directions of the field.

The EMBO Conference will be accompanied by a one and a half days advanced school (Aug 30 & 31) that serves to introduce graduate students and younger postdocs to the key questions in the field.
