About the conference

x-ray of ratCancer metabolism is a rapidly evolving research area. The main aim of this conference is to bring together cancer researchers to present their work in the context of its monitoring or manipulating metabolic alterations in cancer. This 3-day conference will cover established and emerging topics in the field, with an emphasis on translational research. A venue located in the heart of Bilbao, with capacity to host more than 200 cancer researchers, is expected to strengthen social and scientific interactions in the course of the conference.

 

Covered topics include autophagy in cancer, technological advances in the evaluation of metabolism, metabolic wiring in cancer, emerging concepts in cancer metabolism, organismal metabolism and cancer and novel therapeutic perspectives in cancer metabolism.

ASEICA Fellowships

DO YOU WANT TO ATTEND THE TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH IN CANCER METABOLISM MEETING?

If you want to attend this meeting, the Spanish Association for Research in Cancer (ASEICA) has kindly provided a funding opportunity to participate. Up to 25 fellowships will be granted to young researchers, covering the registration cost to the conference.

 

The process is simple:

  • Register in the Conference website (click the "Online Application" button, above) and choose "Yes" in response to the question "Would you like to apply for an ASEICA fellowship?".
  • In the Fellowship Documents section, upload a single PDF file containing your first name and family name, your abstract (max 250 words) and a motivation letter (max 250 words) including a list of main publications (max. 3). It is not mandatory to have published in peer-reviewed journals, but it will be considered in the evaluation.

Selection criteria

  • Priority will be given to early stage researchers (below 30 years old).
  • Nationality and gender balance will be prioritized according to EMBO guidelines.
  • An evaluation committee (composed of the organizers and selected invited speakers) will evaluate the submitted abstract and the motivation letter.
  • Selected candidates will be informed by September 9th and will have a poster participation in the event.

 

Concept of the fellowship: Waiving the registration fee (300 euro).
