About the meeting
Wnt 2020 has been unfortunately postponed to 2022 due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Now, we organizers decided to hold Wnt 2022 at Awaji Yumebutai International Conference Center, Hyogo, Japan on November 15 (Tue) to 19 (Sat). “2022” is a special year for Wnt researchers, because it is 40 years since the Int1 (the original name of Wnt1) locus was discovered as a putative proto-oncogene transcriptionally activated by MMTV provirus. Wnt 2022 would like to celebrate the 40th anniversary as a critical milestone.
During the last four decades, a number of studies have revealed that Wnt signaling plays crucial roles in embryonic development, tissue morphogenesis and regeneration, and many other physiological and pathological processes. Therefore, the knowledge about this signaling is crucial not only for the understanding of multiple aspects of physiology in all life courses but for that of pathology in human diseases. Since Wnt research covers various fields of the life science, this meeting is aiming to cover “molecular and cellular biology of the signaling”, “structural biology”, and “stem cell biology”, as well as “clinical application”.
An important objective of this EMBO Workshop on Wnt 2022 is to bring together researchers from different fields for exchanging cutting-edge information that advance this research field. Whereas several types of Wnt meetings have been held almost every year in Europa and USA, this is the first international Wnt meeting convened in Asia. Therefore, this EMBO Workshop on Wnt 2022 is highly expected to bring together leaders and young scientists from Europe, USA, and especially those from Asia and Oceania.
Participation of young and interdisciplinary researchers are strongly encouraged and we will organize events like “meet the professors” and “poster flash talk” to facilitate active involvement of all participants to the meeting.
A related meeting will be held in Okazaki prior to the 2022 Wnt meeting. You can see details concerning this meeting on the following web site.
