About the workshop
The principal theme of the EMBO Workshop is the Molecular and Developmental Biology of Drosophila. Supported by EMBO over four decades, this will be the 22nd biennial “Crete meeting”.
With the aim of promoting exchange of ideas and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, this EMBO Workshop brings together established and junior group leaders using Drosophila to understand principles of development, cell biology, neurobiology, physiology, genetics, evolution and population genetics.
The meeting format provides the time and atmosphere to promote informal, open dialog. Limiting attendance to about 100 participating Principal Investigators helps to foster close interactions between leading Drosophila research labs. The aim is to promote open sharing of data and ideas and to provide a rich forum for discussion of new research findings and conceptual breakthroughs.
Due to the limited number of attendees, the participants will be selected from the applications by the vote of the Organizing Committee.
