About the visit
EMBO’s multi-city visit will bring members of the EMBO life sciences community from Europe and Taiwan to India to foster international collaboration and strengthen ties with the scientific community in India.
In collaboration with members of the Indian EMBO community, scientists, trainers, and EMBO staff will visit nine institutions across the country during the week of 27 February to 3 March 2023. At each location, the programme will include scientific talks by the visiting scientists, soft-skills training provided by EMBO Press editors and EMBO Solutions trainers, and networking activities with Indian researchers.
About EMBO and EMBC
EMBO is an organization of more than 1,900 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a research environment where scientists can achieve their best work. The EMBO communities are global networks of top-level scientists at various stages of their careers. EMBO Global Activities promote engagement with researchers beyond Europe to strengthen mutually beneficial interactions.
The EMBO Programmes and activities are funded by the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC), an intergovernmental organization comprised of 30 Member States, two Associate Members States, and two Cooperation Partners.
EMBO, EMBC and India
The Government of the Republic of India, EMBO and the EMBC signed a Cooperation Agreement to strengthen scientific interaction and collaborative research between India and Europe. Subsequently, India became an EMBC Associate Member State in January 2016. As a result, researchers working in India are eligible to participate in all EMBO Programmes and activities, such as EMBO Fellowships, EMBO Courses & Workshops, as well as the EMBO Young Investigator Network.
